Opioid Safety and Support

While Monmouth County has seen an encouraging decrease in overdose deaths over the last few years, we know every loss still deeply impacts our community. In response, we’ve teamed up with local leaders and dedicated community members to build proactive support systems to protect our residents before a personal struggle becomes a crisis.

Opioid Toolkits

Created by our Opioid Task Force, our toolkits provide your home, school, or business with the resources needed to help keep our community safe. Each kit includes essentials like medication storage lock bags, overdose warning sign information, and key facts to keep you informed.

Athletes and Wellness

Our Athletes and Wellness program is all about the link between playing your best and staying healthy for the long haul. We work directly with youth athletes, coaches, and families to talk openly about injury prevention, safe pain management, and staying mentally resilient both on and off the field. Our goal is to provide the tools needed to make healthy choices that lead to success in their chosen sport and in life.

International Overdose Awareness Day

Each year on August 31, we come together as a community to honor the friends, family, and neighbors we’ve lost to overdose. While it’s encouraging to see deaths beginning to decline, the rising number of non-fatal overdoses reminds us that our work is far from over. We invite you to join us in remembrance by displaying free purple flags and signs, helping us ensure every life lost is recognized and never forgotten.
